The greatest shopping tool since plastic. Well, maybe. I'm Fred Fishkin with Bootcamp, a report on computers and technology. The easiest way to comparison shop these days is over the Internet. There are websites that will even do it for you, pulling in prices from all over the net for the item you're looking for. The drawback is, you can't see what you're buying upclose. But what if you could take the net with you when you go to the store. Now you can. A company called GoAmerica is providing wireless connections that you can use for comparison shopping. "We're offering, together with BarPoint.com, a wireless comparison shopping option which will allow you from either your 2-way pager or your Palm Pilot to go to any store, type in or scan in the UPC code of the particular item and see if there's a better price available on the web or in the store and allow you to make your purchase decision on the spot.

The online database of barcodes will have about a hundred million items by the end of this year. If the online price is better than the one you find in the store, you can click buy right then and there. Dobrinsky says this useful wireless tool is just the start...
