Electronic Arts Adds More Punch to Fight Night

Electronic Arts adds more punch to Fight Night. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. EA is out with Fight Night Round 3….and while it is available for all of the popular consoles, the high definition for the Xbox 360 brings a new level of realism to the family room. Something to keep in mind for those who are squeamish about boxing. Executive producer Kudo Tsunoda….

"I mean the graphics are just stunning. Everybody always says you have photo real graphics in video games every time a new console comes out. The way we make our game this year on the next gen technology…it's a lot about getting real life assets into the games. Like when we make our boxer models, we do a three million poly laser scan of all the boxers from head to toe. Their faces and the contours of their physique to get the exact shape of their body, head and face down. And then we do a high resolution digital photograph session with these boxers to get the exact look of their face and hair and skin and really get down to pore level detail where you can see the pores in their skin."

The game play has changed as well. You no longer rely on meters on the screen to see how hurt or tired a fighter is…

"You land a big punch, you look right in the guy's face and you can see how much damage you've done. Not just with cuts and bruises, but even the expression on their face or the look in their eyes."

The game…rated for teens and older…sells for 40 dollars for older consoles. The price is 50 percent more on the Xbox 360. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
