"It actually allows people to take their iPod virtually anywhere with them. Before, without a case, there were really some limitations on where you could take your iPod. But when it's enclosed inside an OtterBox, you can take it swimming, you can take it to the beach, you can strap on the armband and take it running with you."
The cases are pricier than others on the market that aren't waterproof. 40 dollars for the iPod Nano version and 50 for the full sized iPod video. An OtterBox for a Fujitsu Tablet PC…is 350 dollars. The engineering key here…is that the devices aren't just protected…they are usable in any weather or environment. That's not to say you can go diving with them…the way you can with some waterproof camera cases…
"The technology cases are waterproof to three feet or one meter. So you can take them swimming or to the ocean or lakes or wherever your adventures take you really."
There are models for certain iPaq PDAs as well. You can find more information at OtterBox.com. You can find us…at BootCamp.com. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
