Now…with Microsoft pushing the Media Center Edition of Windows XP…. the idea of using a computer to watch and record TV programs is becoming more popular. What Hauppague has done now is create a software package called Wing…designed to simplify the process of moving that video onto portable devices….

"Anybody who has purchased a WinTV, not only can they record TV to the hard disk, but with our Wing software they can record it in a form that can be played on a Sony PSP, an Apple video iPod and we introduced a new version of our Wing software that allows you to play back on a Creative Labs Zen player. It's got a nice big color screen. Pricing on the software is about 25 dollars and again it can be used by anybody who has purchased one of our WinTVs in the past. It's a piece of software that works in conjunction with our WinTV cards for the recording."
