If they build it will we come? Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Wireless carriers like Cingular, Verizon Wireless and Sprint….are spending billions to build faster wireless data networks for all kinds of new services…that will include the ability to stream TV and music. But will American consumers be willing to subscribe in big enough numbers to make the investments worthwhile. Steve Largent…CEO of CTIA…the wireless industry association….admits it's a gamble…

"It's not a sure thing at all. But that's really been the hallmark of this industry is coming out with the newest and greatest and best services, and that's why we say all the time that we are so much more than just a telecommunications industry. The ability to have your TV set essentially with you wherever you're traveling to get the latest sports update or news update can be really valuable to people."

At least that's what the industry is hoping. Even more valuable to many would be cell phone networks that are as reliable as wired phone lines. Using a cell phone can still be frustrating…

"That's right and I will tell you there will always be those problems just because we can't really change the laws of physics of how our phone works. The truth is our service is getting better and better, there's few and few dropped calls."
