"Helio is bringing a brand new kind of mobile service to the market, designed for young, connected consumers, who want to get the most out of wireless. We have very high end, exclusive devices that we brought from Korea. They're just beautiful. We have services that are built to maximize the 3G experience in new and unique ways. And we have service and support that really talks to people on their level."
Two phones are offered at the start…priced at 250 or 275 dollars. Monthly plans are priced at 85 to 135 dollars a month. Helio includes exclusive cell phone access to MySpace…the Fox owned online community…with something like 70 million members….
"You can blog your life as you're living it as opposed to doing it at your PC the next day. We work with MySpace, we work with Yahoo… we have many different partners. But MySpace really shows off what we're doing in mobile and the way we get you connected with your friends."
Helio…which is using Sprint's network at the outset…has competition…from other mobile virtual network operators…including Virgin Mobile, AMP'D and ESPN. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
