Konami Digital Entertainment has won lots of fans for its Karaoke Revolution …and Dance, Dance, Revolution titles for the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox. And for an encore….a new partnership with Fox TV's American Idol. Konami's Marc Franklin says the game will be called…

"Karaoke Revolution: American Idol. The biggest force in entertainment joining with the most recognize brand name in music video games. It's a perfect synergy. It's a great recipe using our Karaoke Revolution engine with the format of competing in a singing competition with American Idol." Have you announced yet when or what platforms? "Well we announced the license and we have the rights, it's a multi-year agreement to do both current generation and next generation platforms. Right now we haven't announced when the game is going to be shipping although we will have more details coming this summer. In terms of some details on the game, we'll have more than 40 songs. There will be songs that have been made popular by American Idol. And in the game, you will be an American Idol contestant, going through the same mode as you would on TV, trying out for American Idol, being invited to Hollywood and then ultimately competing to become the American Idol."

Konami says the game will be out…by the end of the year. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
