When it comes to downloadable movies, the battle has just begun. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. It may take a long time for services that offer the legal downloading of movies to catch up with the amount of illegal downloading that is taking place….but movie studios are showing more cooperation. Time Warner and Disney recently announced they will make their films available on CinemaNow. That's a service that competes with MovieLink. For consumers, the most affordable legal option comes from the Starz Entertainment Group and its online service called Vongo. Executive VP Bob Greene….

"Vongo is the only subscription based Internet service that provides access to more than 16 hundred movies and other video titles. We really have a whole breadth of offerings to people that want to watch content on an on demand basis. The key for us is we've positioned ourselves with the use of our exclusive relationships with Disney and Sony Studios and a wealth of other Hollywood movies to provide great flexibility and value for consumers to download movies."

After a free trial period, Vongo costs about ten dollars a month. Some movies are also available for additional pay per view fees. The movies can be watched on PCs, notebooks, and soon new handheld devices. One obstacle….you can't take them with you on a video enabled iPod…
