"Primary uses are the executive on the go who travels a lot. Let's say they want to scan a document on an airplane or they want to scan a newspaper article or magazine article. In the corporate world, lawyers use this. They go to reference libraries. Same goes for students. Ideal for students."
Scans are stored in the internal memory….which can be expanded with micro SD cards. You'll need to do that. The built in memory is only enough for a couple of pages. The portability comes at a price. The RC800 sells for about 300 dollars. And to get perfect scans, does take some practice. You are moving the wand manually over what you are trying to copy. You then plug the device into a PC through a USB port to transfer the documents into included PaperPort software. There is competition from Visioneer…and dedicated models from CardScan and Neat Receipts. But nothing is as easy to carry around as the DocuPen…
"It's very portable, fits in your pocket. Lightweight. It comes with a leather case, comes complete with software."
