More High Tech Toys From Digital Blue

Techstination feature for Monday, July 24, 2006

More high tech toys from Digital Blue. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Digital Blue….a company that was created four years ago….from what had been the Intel Technology Smart Labs….has created some of the top toys that combine technology, learning and fun…including the QX5 Microscope, the American Idol Camcorder and the Tony Hawk HelmetCam. Now the company is working on a new lineup that includes partnerships with Disney and the Smithsonian Institution. Marketing VP Julie Gibbons…says among the new products…the Disney Princess Digital Movie Maker…

"Every girl that wants to be a princess takes this out and films themselves and comes back to our innovative software, downloads all the footage and then puts themselves in Cinderella's castle with animation stamps, frames and create their own Disney Princess movie. And it has all the footage from all the princesses…including Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, Snow White, etcetera."

Also on tap, a three megapixel Disney themed digital camera for kids….

"Full one and a half inch color LCD screen on the front. A lot more of the flash options, everything you would get with a three megapixel camera. And again, easily downloadable into the software."

The price… under eighty dollars. In the meantime, Digital Blue is collaborating with the Smithsonian in making an updated digital microscope…as well as a telescope and chemistry set. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
