The latest mobile phone flavor…. Chocolate. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. LG and Verizon Wireless are out with the U.S. version of the Chocolate phone. Jon Maron, LG phones senior director of marketing …says with soft touch keys….MP3 music capabilities and a sleek black design…the Chocolate phone…merges technology with fashion….

"First of all it takes a gig micro SD card, which is an awful lot of music and or videos or pictures or anything else you want to put on there. A Bluetooth stereo headset that's wireless, obviously, so you can have all your music to listen to in stereo and still be able to answer your calls. It's multifunctional. And if you're playing a game or on the Web or listening to music when a call comes in, it just pauses. You answer your call, when you're done with your call, you go back to what it was that you were doing before."

The phone is selling for about a hundred fifty dollars…with a contract. Michael Ahn is the president and CEO of LG in North America… and his expectations are high…

"Actually we have been very successful with the Chocoate phone in the European market at well as the South American market, Russia and China. So with that experience we are coming to the USA. I'm sure we will be very successful with the Chocolate phone."

More than 1.7 million of the phones have already been sold in Asia and Europe…since they went on sale there a couple of months ago. LG is hoping the design will help it win back sales from Motorola….which has been winning the design war with its Razr and Slvr phones. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
