Putting video in your pocket. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Millions of people have invested in Apple's video iPods or Sony's PlayStation Portable or PSP units. Both are capable of playing back video. But buying TV shows from Apple's iTunes store….or movies on UMD disc for the PSP can get pretty expensive. There are other solutions. Among them, a tiny box that serves as a digital video recorder…that you can hook up to a cable or satellite box. NeurosTechnology President Collin Anderson….

"It's called the Recorder 2, it records in the MPEG4 format. We think of it like a VCR for the portable age. You can record from any video source onto memory cards. So you can record, like a VCR, with RCA cables, plut it into your TV or DVD player. You can do timed recording, so if you wanted to record last night's Daily Show or this morning's MarketWatch while you sleep, soap opera or ball game while you work, and set it up, it will record for you onto the card. And then you pop the card out and pop it into your handheld. You can play it into a PlayStation Portable, a video iPod, smart phones, etcetera."

The on screen interface could use a bit more polish. The latest version, the Neuros MPEG4 Recorder 2 Plus, includes slots for a greater variety of memory cards….from compact flash to Memory Stick to SD. The price, about a hundred sixty dollars.
