"We're showing it here today standing up in a traditional tower orientation. But it is designed to be put horizontally. It is designed to slide into a stereo rack. If you'll notice, it also has a very elegant front cover. You don't see any buttons. Card readers, all these capabilities are in the computer but they're concealed behind this really nice door. If you put it in an environment where you want to show it off, it doesn't have a klutzy technology look to it."

A TV tuner card allows you to use the PC as a DVR…to time shift your favorite shows or even transfer them to portable video players. Opting for added memory and a better video card over the integrated Intel graphics is probably a good idea if you are planning to upgrade to Windows Vista. Dell, like a number of other PC makers, will be offering buyers upgrades to Vista. It will be free for systems sold with the Media Center or Professional editions of Windows XP. Pricing for the XPS 210 starts at about 11 hundred dollars…including a 19 inch flat panel monitor. The system provides a good balance between style, size and power.
