"We really designed it around the idea that you would be sitting on a couch or maybe an easy chair and you wanted access to the Web. And so you wanted to be able to check the news, you wanted to check the weather, you wanted to check your email, maybe watch some videos on YouTube, or Google Videos or CNN or possibly Bloomberg. You could also use it to control your TV. So one of the great features we have is if you're sitting on your couch and you'd like to see first of all what's on television right now, we have an online program guide and you can also control your TV. So it will directly interact with your TV like a universal remote control that you get that may come with your TV."
The Pepper Pad 3 has a 20 or 30 gigabyte hard drive…for music, video, photos or documents….a variety of applications. It carries a definite cool factor….but also carries a price of about 700 dollars. Whether you'd be better off spending the money on a full fledged notebook PC really depends on what your needs are and how much weight you give to the cool factor. The weight of the Pepper Pad…which comes in white, pink or black…is about 2.2 pounds. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
