"It's a multi-player strategy game that's focused around the events of the 1930s and 1940s. The players play leaders of countries during the World War II period and basically try to lead their country to victory. We shipped that last fall and it's been used primarily in schools …colleges and high schools. It was adopted in roughly fifty schools nationwide."
There are many other World War II games out there…the Call of Duty series being among the more popular titles. Muzzy Lane took a different approach…
"It's not a first person shooter game where there's a lot of blood and gore and direct violence. It's more about how do nations act in the world system… how do they survive… how do they pursue their interests. We think that that has a lot of relevance even to today's events."
And players learn about history and geography, without even trying. There's a free trial version of the game available from Muzzy Lane's Web site. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
