"All indications are we came off a very strong Thanksgiving holiday, we've got great supply, we have games that are really driving the console like Gears of War and Viva Pinata that are doing extremely well at retail. And I think the key is that we're in stock, we're available, we're delivering well to retail, our marketing has kicked in in full gear and certainly the consumer's recognizing the fact that we have a great price point as well as a hundred sixty games available and that flies in the face our competition a little bit."
Gears of War quickly reached the million sales mark….and Viva Pinata is aimed squarely at Nintendo's bread and butter….the younger game players in the household…
"We certainly look at Nintendo and look at them as a company that has done that phenomenally well, actually over the decades. But if we're going to grow to meet the aspirations of building a truly mass market following, it's something we must do and must do well. And I think Viva Pinata is just the beginning of that. Expect a lot more content of that ilk from us in the next year or so."
