"We have eight different categories …the first seven are the seven groups that are recognized by the American Kennel Club…the sporting hound, working terrier, toy, non-sporting and herding. And then we have an eighth group that you wouldn't see at a regular dog show and that's for mixed breed dogs. And we all know that they can be just as cute and adorable and wonderful as the pure bred dogs as well. And that's exactly the point we're trying to make here. It's a great event for anybody and any dog."
Judging from the thousands of photos that have been entered online…the competition is ruff. Among the categories…
"Well we have the cutest trick, we have the owner look a like. I always say that a lot of dogs do look like their owners or vice versa, but it's not always a good idea to point that out. But we had some last year that were great in that respect."
Finalists get a year's supply of dog food. The overall winner…gets a trip for two to the National Dog Show in Philadelphia next November. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
