"Vista is a major operating system, it's the first big release of Windows in many years, people have been waiting for it. There's a lot of rich features. It's making the system more media intense and media friendly. We have prepared for this for a long time. We are partners with Microsoft in this development. And so we've had the chance to optimize several of our peripherals for Windows."
The VX Revolution cordless mouse for notebooks, for instance, will let users easily use the Flip 3D feature in Vista. While Logitech does have a partnership with Microsoft… it also finds itself competing with the software giant…in selling keyboards, mice and now Web cams. But of the competition DeLuca says…
"There is a big Microsoft and we are very friendly with Microsoft…the Microsoft that does Windows, the Microsoft that does MSN. But then there is a small Microsoft. The Microsoft that does hardware. In particular the peripherals we do. And we've been competing with them for a long, long time. So I don't expect this to change in the future and this competition has created more innovation to the consumer than otherwise."
