"The biggest difference people will notice is that games are first class citizen, right off the Start menu. And we have something new called the games explorer that makes it very easy for people to find the games that are on their system, to launch them, to use new features like parental controls for parents to restrict the kind of games their kids can play. It also extends to things like having great gaming accessories. People are comfortable with a controller. We really haven't had first class controller support. Now all the Xbox 360 gaming accessories, like the joysticks, even the wireless accessories, will work with Windows Vista."
Microsoft is working with game makers to create uniform packaging for games for Windows…similar to the uniform packaging for console games that makes different platforms recognizable. At Intel, digital homes platform manager Monesh Chokshi, says the push may help sell newer, faster computers…
"Vista in and of itself has very compelling features and I know Microsoft is very ambitious and aggressive and really pushing Vista."
