"Well the vast majority of consumers will find that Windows Vista Home Premium is the primary choice that they'll find loaded on new PCs and it's certainly the starting point. I'd start at Windows Vista Home Premium. But for those people that are more advanced users, who want the very best features and who may find that they'll make connections to servers, may also want Windows Vista Ultimate."
The upgrade price for Vista Premium is about a hundred fifty dollars. The Ultimate upgrade sells for about 250. On top of that…you'll need lots of computing and graphics power. You can use the advisor tool on Microsoft's Web site to see what your PC is capable of running. And about some reports that Vista will be the last of the big Windows releases from Microsoft….Sievert says it isn't so…
"Not at all. I mean we will continue to come out with new versions of Windows over time. And you can expect that from us. We have several thousand engineers that are already hard at work on the next version. People will get their software from a combination of rich client software as well as services rendered over the Internet. But Windows Vista is just the next step."
