"This has been a real first for Adobe. We've actually gotten more than 450 thousand individual downloads of the public beta of Photoshop CS3. I think people are really excited. And they haven't even seen Photoshop Extended, which is again, another first….which is the first time we've done two flavors of Photoshop. And so extended adds features in 3D, video and scientific and technical work…so that if you're a creative pro or doing specialized work, you can now get features that address those needs."
The software is priced for professionals… 650 dollars for Photoshop and 999 for the extended version. For most consumers…all the power they need is in Photoshop Elements…which you can find for under eighty dollars. But a surprising number of non-professionals have been investing in the full version of Photoshop….
"It's really kind of amazing that Photoshop has been in the market now for 17 years. Yet we've seen great growth over the last couple years. And I think a lot of that is tied to folks becoming more serious about photography."
