A new update from Nero. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Nero has become known for putting together one of the most complete digital media suites for PCs. It's out with an update….an for existing owners of Nero 7 Ultra Edition…it's free. Company president Udo Eberlein says among the new features…are its ability not just to work with Windows Vista…but take advantage of its capabilities…

"We've obviously address Vista with a few new things such as a disk copy gadget, which you see here. Basically it's a quick gadget for a one touch copying approach. Copy anything real quickly in Vista."

And the applications…about 20 in all…have been optimized for the new operating system…

"It's a complete solution, it has backup solutions. It has a ten foot user interface for connectivity on the TV. It has your regular data burning. It has audio, video and photo editing and burning. It has a streaming network server."

The update adds support for Blu-ray high definition DVDs….and the capability of editing and burning video shot by new high def camcorders from Sony and Panasonic. In addition…it gives users the capability of encoding video files for viewing on iPods or PlayStation Portable devices. About making the update available for free, Eberlein says…

"All the updates, which always mean significant feature increases or more features, are always for free."
