Printing lab quality pictures...at home. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. There are lots of photo editing applications on the market that you can spend hours with manipulating images. If you don't want to spend a lot of time, there are easier ways to improve your pictures before printing. One is called Noromis PhotoLab. President and founder Maurice Hamoy....says the software analyzes images and makes corrections...pretty much the same way they are done by computerized photo labs. He says it differs from the results you get from easy fix buttons in other applications...

"The problem is they had a certain amount of talent built into them, a certain amount of intelligence. But there was always a lot of ...after the easy fix...you have to say ...well that's too dark, it's almost right. The success rate was not adequate. Whereas if you went to a one hour photo lab the software that was running on those powerful machines, would nail 22 out of 24 pictures just right. So it was simply a matter of yes there have been auto fixes, and our own, through a really rigorous development schedule until it was the equal and sometimes superior to what you could get if you went out and had it done at a lab. So our auto fix is basically fantastically smart."
