Turning a Portable Drive Into Your Personal PC

Techstination feature for Wednesday, June 20, 2007

Turning a portable drive…into your personal PC. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. There have been flash memory drives on the market before that include technology called U3. Plug the drive into a USB port and you can access your own browser and some other applications…on a PC wherever you happen to be. Now a company called RingCube Technologies is out with a platform it calls MojoPac…that takes the idea further. Chief Technology Officer Mike Larkin…

"MojoPac is a software technology that essentially turns your favorite USB storage gadget into a portable computer. And what it allows you to do is take all of your computing environment with you on a portable storage device. And we take everything with you that makes your computer yours. Take your applications, your data, your settings, without having to carry around the baggage of an extra operating system with you on the device. You can actually use all the way from small flash drives up to the largest 2 and a half inch portable hard drive."

Download and install MojoPac onto a portable drive….and you can then install just about any application onto it…along with your personal documents. Then you can plug it into any other Windows PC…

"The version that we have available now is for all versions of Windows XP. And we've just announced to our Beta community, that we have Vista support. So there's a beta version of our Vista product available on our user forum now."

You can find a free trial at Mojopac.com. A single license for the software costs about 50 dollars. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
