Chopping Vegetables With a Wii Remote

Techstination feature for Thursday, June 28, 2007

Chopping vegetables with a Wii remote. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. The latest Disney Pixar movie ....Ratatouille...arrives in theatres....and along with it...a new video game from THQ. It's available on a variety of platforms...the PlayStation 3 version won't arrive though until later in the year. THQ's Melody Khanbeigi...

"Ratatouille, the video game, is taking the main story beats of the movie and it incorporates it into the game. So you can basically live through the eyes of Remy, which is the main character of the movie and complete missions in over six open worlds. You can play over 20 challenging mini games, get into places and interact with objects that normally humans wouldn't be able to get into."

In the PC version...kids can use a mouse to move the rat, which is what Remy is. Families with Nintendo's Wii console, will find some fun and unique features....such as...

"Using the Wii remote to perform tail swipes, which is a defensive feature that Remy has. Also there are Wii specific mini games throughout the video game that allow you to hold the Wii remote like you're holding a pan and make a crepe. Or hold a knife to chop up vegetables and meats."

The kinds of features that have made the Wii console a top seller. The game also includes some promotional videos for the movie...including interviews with some of the animators. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
