"Steven's clearly got a gift. A gift for telling stories, a gift for creating characters, a gift for making them come alive and become important to the viewer of his films. And the partnership with Electronic Arts is to try to bring those exact insights in a bigger, more powerful way to video game platforms and the PC."
EA has announced a smattering of information about two of the games….
"One of them is more of a family product based on sort of taking the idea…you know we all played with blocks as kids…and turning that into a pretty fundamental video game. There's a lot of precedents for sometimes disarmingly simple ideas being incredibly powerful."
The other game the company and Spielberg are talking about….harkens back to an old EA slogan… can a computer make you cry…
"The text said that we see a future, sometime out there, where the stories and character and your involvement in the game will be every bit as moving as a great movie or a great book."
That's the teaser…for now….sort of like a short trailer for a movie that won't be out until next year. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
