The MediaMate weighs about one and a half pounds and is far from being pocket sized. It comes with a vehicle power adapter …and in that setting….for back seat passengers….it may be ideal. You can have a whole library of content available for kids to watch on a road trip. While the 380 dollar price for the 40 gigabyte version is competitive…the screen resolution falls short of what you'll find in many other portable media players. Yanes says…

"We're absolutely talking to the manufacturer about that. There is definitely a balance between the cost of the TFT screen and what you want to retail this device for."
