Another coffee table book that your family can be a part of. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Photographer Rick Smolan and the team that created a variety of books such as A Day in the Life of America, One Digital Day and America 24/7….are back with a new project taking place this week….called America at Home. And once again…while professional photographers are fanning out to capture the lives of family routines…..the public is being asked to join in. And Smolan says the results can be surprising…

"The last time we did this, what was amazing is some of the soccer moms out shot the Pulitzer prize winning photographers. Sometimes just the fact that you're in your home with your family, there's access and a comfort level that you have with your family that a famous photographer showing up might not have. So it sort of levels the playing field."

You can sign up and see the photo assignments at myamericaathome.com. For instance…

"One of the really fun ones is the evening rituals. I crawl under the covers with my kids at night with a flashlight and we pretend we're bears and read books. Other people may sit out on the porch knitting. Or friends may come over and they may sing karaoke. We're asking people, what's the one thing that you love to do in the evening in your house that you can photograph. That you can sort of share with the world."

The photos have to be submitted by early next week…and the ones that make the cut…will be part of a book scheduled to be published in March. As with America 24/7, you'll be able to buy the book with a picture of your family on the cover. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
