Ringtones for mobile phones are big business. Are you ready to record your own? Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. If you haven't downloaded ringtones to your mobile phone…you no doubt have heard the preferences of others when songs are received in public places. It's a way to personalize your phone. And a company called Interop Technologies has technology that can make those ringtones even more personal….with what it calls Karaoke Tones. VP Damian Sazama…

"It allows the user to come in, and it's totally branded for the carrier or the brand, so is the IVR." And IVR stands for.. "Interactive voice response. It's basically what you hear on every bank that you call. It's basically the instructions on how to use it."

One of Interop's customers has been The Hershey Company….which is offering free Karaoke Tones in specially marked packages of products such as Ice Breaker gum. It is also signing up carriers to sell Karaoke Tones. You go to a Web site…enter a code….and the service calls you back…playing music and lyrics and prompting you to record. As Interop's Fred Farrell demonstrated…(sound) You can listen to a gallery and try it for yourself at hersheys.com/singtones. But you'll need a code from one of the products to be able to save your creations. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
