"The world itself, your interaction in this world, has much more impact than it does in most MMOs. In most MMOs creatures respond right where they were after you killed them. Garriott has been a busy man. Through Space Adventures….he is scheduled to fly to the International Space Station in October of next year as the sixth space tourist. But he won't be a passive tourist…
"Privately funding access to space, like I'm doing for myself in this case, can be much more than what I'll call a vacation. And can really be an opportunity to provide important scientific activity, that I believe justifies the expense of flying to space."
