All in One Printer...With Facial Retouching

Techstination feature for Tuesday, January 8, 2008

An all in one printer….with facial retouching built in. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. There've been some digital cameras on the market that can automatically take a few pounds off….slimming your subjects. Now Kodak has announced an update to its line of all in one printers…that will add a facial retouching feature. Consumer digital group communications director Nancy Carr..

"You can actually take pictures of people that you want to soften their skin tones or remove blemishes, whiten their teeth. It's an automatic, one touch, facial retouch software on the all in one printer that we're introducing." You'll put doctors out of business… "Even plastic surgeons have been calling…no…I'm only kidding. But it really works beautifully. It only works on portraits and it gives you a much more pleasing photo. We've learned through our consumer research that a lot of people don't like their picture taken because they think they look older…they don't like the way that they look. And this facial retouch software on the new all in one inkjet printer takes all that away and gives you much more pleasing pictures and portraits."

Kodak says the new model will arrive during the first half of this year. It will use the lower cost ink cartridges the company came out with last year. Also announced at the Consumer Electronics Show by Kodak…a 12 megapixel consumer point and shoot digital camera….with an HD mode…that takes shots in a 16 by 9 format. The price…under 280 dollars.
