How to Prepare for the Summer Olympics

How to prepare for the Summer Olympics? By playing video games. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. U.S.A. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte…who was part of the relay team that won the gold in Athens four years ago…and also captured a silver medal ….is getting ready for the games this summer in Beijing. We found him diving into the video game version of his events at a Sega press event in New York….playing the upcoming Beijing 2008….

"The graphics on this game is really amazing. It's actually like you're swimming, but on the screen. You can't, it's not like a normal game where you just push buttons and you can easily win. Like you actually have to move the joystick in like a circular motion to basically mimic a regular stroke." The way you'd move your arms, kind of simulating that with the sticks here. "Yeah. And it's really quite amazing." Are you swimming your best event on here? "Yeah. I tried track and field and I didn't do so hot. So I think I'll stick with swimming."

Lochte, by the way, is an avid gamer. Sega's Denny Chiu says the title…for the PS3, Xbox360 and PC…will arrive in June. And…

"The venues are modeled after the actual venues in Beijing. We're going for a lot of realism. This is actually the simulation game for us."

A cartoonish…Mario and Sonic Olympic Game is already on the market. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
