"First, what we're seeing in major trends, is that everything that's happening in the home, people want in their car. So from the basics, MP3 players, they want their digital content. They want their music libraries from the home to the car. So we're seeing a lot of devices that enable you to integrate your iPod into your car stereo for example. And then of course, there's video. You're able to get great quality video at home, now you're able to do that in the car."
Mobile satellite TV services are just getting started. About whether the gadgets can be too much of a distraction, the CEA says technology is trying to solve that too…
"One of the really great trends we see in the car now is voice recognition. And one of the products that I've seen from Panasonic allows you to interact, not just the device to give you voice prompts, but for you to do voice commands. So …give me directions to CVS…for example. And it will then talk back to you. So it will eliminate some of the focus that you have to have."
