"We believe that within a few years we can drive up to fifty percent of our traffic through mobile devices. And I think that makes sense because you think about how many hours a day people are at home sitting in front of their computers versus how many hours they are actually out and about, in school, waiting for the bus, hanging out with their friends sitting in a caf?. And there's many, many hours in a day where until very recently customers weren't about to access MySpace. And we've completely blown that door open for them."
MySpace has been signing deals to bring its content to television…a natural since it is owned by Rupert Murdoch's NewsCorp….and to other countries…one of the most recent additions being South Korea. It's looking to stay ahead of faster growing Facebook. Lucas says…
"MySpace's strength and momentum in mobile right now, is a key differentiator for us and one that's really helped us to pull ahead of our competition and help us to retain our customers and deepen our levels of engagement."
After all…the little screen on a phone…never leaves the side of many MySpace users. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
