"First of all, the obvious difference is that it's about sixty percent smaller than the one that we had before. It's also improved in terms of its performance. So I think we were widely recognized as having the best in class audio quality and noise suppression technology. We improved that through a shift in our technology base by several decibels of noise reduction. So we fell like it got better on that side. We also, because of that technology shift and innovation, we are able to work now, pretty well, in wind. We've also improved a lot of the intelligibility around the noise suppressed speech. So you sound very crisp and very human."
Some competitors have improved noise suppression as well….going after Jawbone's market. But the CEO says…
"I think the thing that sets us apart is that we've got this built in scientific advantage over the rest in that we have a proprietary sensor that's patent protected that feels your speech, literally feels the vibrations on your cheek when you're speaking. So we have perfect knowledge of when you are talking."
The Jawbone 2, initially available at AT&T stores, sells for about 130 dollars. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
