A New Creative Suite From Adobe

Techstination feature for Tuesday, October 28, 2008

A new Creative Suite from Adobe. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. For years, Adobe has set the standard in imaging and media creation software. While it faces more competition on some fronts from the likes of Apple and Microsoft....the innovation continues with the latest package...Creative Suite 4. It includes the flagship...Photoshop....where product manager Bryan O'Neill Hughes says...it is becoming a natural step up for consumers who may have started out with simpler photo editing software....

"It's very interesting to use because we have a lot of different sorts of customers who buy different sorts of cameras and want solutions for different problems. And for that, we have applications like Photoshop Express which allows you to get in and start playing around for free on the Web. And we have things like Elements which have obviously been very successful and very popular because of extreme ease of use and really focusing on some more consumer problems. I'm always very surprised...I would have imagined that people would use Elements or Photoshop, but we'll very often see someone playing around with Express, spending a lot of time in Elements, going over to Photoshop."

While Photoshop CS4 is priced at about 700 dollars, owners of previous editions can upgrade for about 200. For most consumers ...the under 100 dollar Photoshop Elements...will provide just about all of the tools they need. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
