The Print Shop Returns

Techstination feature for Friday, November 7, 2008

It's been around as long as Microsoft Windows...and Print Shop is still going strong. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. It was one of the first programs around that let consumers use their PCs to make their own greeting cards and calendars. Now...Encore Software is out with The Print Shop 23...in three different flavors. Encore product director Jennifer Smiczek...

"The Print Shop is designed for the casual user. So we have someone with limited time who wants to create quick and easy projects. And then we have a deluxe version that's designed for the design enthusiast, for someone who wants to express themselves with unlimited design options. And the third version is Pro Publisher Deluxe. And it's a complete design solution for small businesses who want to create professional quality projects without the cost of an expensive designer."

Prices range from 30 dollars up to one hundred for Pro Publisher Deluxe. The focus in the latest editions...is on ease of use...

"This version has been updated with a new user interface to make it even easier to create projects. We've also added in a new gallery of contemporary templates and images. So a much easier experience from start to finish."

For cards and the like...you can use your own photos...or utilize the tens of thousands of stock photos and other artwork included. The Print Shop programs run on Windows based PCs and for do it yourselfers...are an alternative to the many photo printing services that will create cards for you.
