An online community for pet owners. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. The Internet has long been a source of information and community for just about anything you can think of. But Richard Thompson....who founded and then sold the MeowMix cat food company....says was a need for a more comprehensive site for pet owners. And so, he launched one...called Zootoo.com...

"We have lots of features. We put an umbrella over the pet industry if you will so when you go there, no matter what type of pet you have, you've got things that you can do. For instance, we have pet answers. If you have questions, anything from veterinarian type questions, feeding questions or questions about products, you can ask the community and you'll get answers back on anything and everything from the community. We have groups, we have events, so if you're holding a charity event, you can do that. We have pet products, services, we have over half a million reviews of pet products on the site. I think we have about 23, 24 thousand veterinarians on the site, dog walkers, groomers, boarding, pet friendly hotels, airlines."

Members share videos and photos as well. Thompson says in addition, Zootoo is holding an online contest for a million dollar animal shelter makeover. The site does have some competition...from PetHobbyist.com, animalattraction.com and others. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
