A Web based learning platform that claims to help you remember. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. A company called Cerego....based in Tokyo....was started by Andrew Smith Lewis....who studied at the Bronix High School of Science...and was a Westinghouse Science Talent Search Semi-Finalist. What he and his team at Cerego have created is a learning platform called iKnow.....
"I Know right now is a B to C site that is free to the end user, where we basically make these learning algorithms available so that people can come in and learn basically any information they want."
What the iKnow site uses is research from scientists who have studied how we learn and how we remember. And on the site....at iknow.co.jp....you'll find free courses for building vocabulary....and SAT test study....and there's more to come...
"Initially the algorithms were tuned for language learning, but the system generalizes to any sort of fact based information. So this could be maps of the world, we're working with a group at New York University who is actually using the system to train people for preparation for the MCAT exam, learning medical facts. So basically the concept is that whatever domain of knowledge that you look at, there's fact based content, stuff that people just have to learn and remember to a very high level."
And the iKnow technology is designed to make that easier. It's been used by hundreds of thousands of Japanese users who are studying English. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
