Stephen King says reading ebooks shouldn't be so scary. I'm Fred Fishkin with Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. With Amazon's announcement of the Kindle 2, also came word that best selling author Stephen King has written a novella that will be available exclusively on Kindle devices. In fact...the Kindle is actually part of the story. I'm one of those who has become a fan of the Amazon e-book reader that allows near instant wireless downloading of books, newspapers and magazines since it first arrived more than a year ago. But there are plenty of people who seem almost repulsed by the idea of reading books from an electronic screen instead of paper pages. What does Stephen King have to say to them?....

"Well I say that probably there was a point in the caves, when the Cro-Magnons were in the caves, that some guy came and said look, the entire story of the hunt, it's in these little pictographs. I put it all down so I don't have to be there to tell you about the hunt, you can look at the pictures. And some other guy said, that will never work, you have to have a story teller to tell the story, you can just have a bunch of symbols and stuff. In other words, I think there's a resistance to any kind of a new delivery system, which is what this is. The same way there were people who just swore up and down that they'd never use a typewriter because it wouldn't be the same."
