Flat TV With Wireless HD

Techstination feature for Friday, March 27, 2009

A flat TV with wireless HD. I'm Fred Fishkin with Boot Camp, a report on gadgets and gear. How do you avoid that bundle of wires dangling from a flat screen in the family room? A hole in the wall is the usual solution. But Panasonic plans to begin selling a model this spring...that has but one wire...for electricity. The company's Gregg Lee says the Z1 series plasma TV...is under one inch thick. That's what you see...

"The rest of it is on the other side of the room. We're actually delivering the signal to the set wirelessly. Full HD 1080p wirelessly through the air from one side of the room to the other. And the technology that really allows us to do this, to make the set thinner and accomplish this is what we call Neo PDP. This is the next generation of plasma technology which made this sets use much less electricity which allows us to make them thinner."

The 54 inch model...will sell for about six thousand dollars....making your wallet quite a bit thinner as well. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
