A better browser from Microsoft. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology Boot Camp, a report on gadgets and gear. Microsoft has been facing tougher competition from the likes of Firefox and Apple's Safari in the Web browser battle. The speed of Firefox and the variety of plug ins has won lots of people over. But Microsoft's new Internet Explorer 8... just might win some of them back. There are navigation improvements...but perhaps most important of all...are the new tools for privacy and security. Michael Kaiser, executive director of the National Cyber-security Alliance, says consumers should take advantage of the tools to guard against the growing number of online threats...

"They need to have a Web browser that's current and up to date like Internet Explorer 8, that allows them to get good information about the risks that are out there online and also make some decisions about their privacy online and how they share information with Websites."
