Tech Toy for Kids That Grown Ups Will Love

Techstination feature for Wednesday, April 15, 2009

A tech toy for kids that grown-ups will love. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology Boot Camp, a report on gadgets and gear. It's a familiar scene in lots of households. Parents buy a video game console for the kids....and then wrestle the controllers away to have fun themselves. Well, that's likely to happen again with the latest toy from Digital Blue, the Night Vision Video Camera. CEO Tim Hall...

"It's a real working video camera that you can use in the daytime, but it has infrared technology so at night it can record in the dark. You can see, it's got a two inch LCD screen and you can see the green colored images in the dark, just like high end military grade optics. But we found a way to take that and put it into a video camera that sells for 79 dollars."

The video is saved in internal memory or onto SD memory cards. The camera will arrive in stores this summer but may be available before then online. You can find us, day or night, at I'm Fred Fishkin.
