A new line of LCD TVs that can sense when someone is watching. Senior marketing manager Nate Kraft says the VE5 will arrive this summer with high efficiency backlighting...an easily accessible switch that turns the screen off completely... and the really cool thing about the line is... the presence sensor...

"What the presence sensor does is within that recommended viewing range of 9 to 12 feet, it'll determine whether anybody is in the room watching the television. So you can set it for five minutes, fifteen minutes or thirty minutes and if it doesn't sense that you're in the room for that period of time what it does is turn the backlight off. The sound continues and then when I create movement in front of it, it comes back on instantly. So this is great if you have kids who forget to turn off the TV."
