Sony Seeks to Widen Appeal of PSP

Techstination feature for Thursday, June 11, 2009

The Playstation Portable...in purple? I'm Fred Fishkin with technology Boot Camp, a report on gadgets and gear. Sony's Playstation Portable....has been around for about four years...with something like fifty million sold. Nintendo has sold far more of its DS handheld game machines. But now Sony is trying to widen the appeal. In October...the new PSP Go will arrive...with a whole new form...about half the size of the current PSP. And it is also going after girls....specifically...the tween market with a sparkly lilac colored model that includes a Hannah Montana entertainment pack. PSP marketing manager Kristin Neirinckx...

"With the lilac PSP comes the Hannah Montana game, which is exclusive to the PSP, a UMD movie which features her top three episodes from her hit TV series. A two gig stick as well as stickers for customization because at this age group it's all about personalization. "

The price...about 200 dollars. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
