TV on mobile phones. It's just getting started. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. AT&T and Verizon have been selling mobile phones that use Qualcomm's Flo TV. One big problem has been...the signals for the TV service have only been available in very limited markets. But the transition that just took place by the nation's broadcasters to digital TV....is freeing up space for those Flo TV signals....and VP Mike Bailey says...
"We will be able to deliver truly a nationwide network. What that means is by the end of the year, over 100 markets will be covered with our service covering over two hundred million people."
Later this year...the service will also be available on rear seat vehicle entertainment systems from Audiovox. There are still questions about whether Flo will fly.... with consumers being asked to pay added subscription fees for the service. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
