Windows 7 is on the horizon. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology Boot Camp, a report on gadgets and gear. It officially arrives on October 22d, but Windows 7 is already available for pre-sale on line and ...generally...has been getting a considerably more favorable reception from beta users than Windows Vista. So what will PC users have to look forward to? Microsoft senior product manager Aaron Coldiron says there are many new features....but perhaps of most value...
"It's going to turn off and on quicker. It's going to resume quicker. It's going to run really smoothly and a lot faster on a variety of machines. I think that's going to make a lot of people just relax and enjoy their PC experience."
If you want to give it a try ahead of time...you can download the release candidate from Microsoft. Mac users in the meantime...also have an update to look forward to...OS X Snow Leopard...arriving in September. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
