Low Light and Panoramas ...New Sony Cameras

Techstination feature for Thursday, August 13, 2009

New cameras from Sony. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. There are so many point and shoot digital cameras on the market... it can be difficult to find models with unique, useful qualities. But Sony hits the point and shoot target with new models called the DSC WX-1 and TX-1. They are equipped with new low light sensors that let you snap high quality images without flash. And perhaps even more unique is the panorama mode built into the cameras. Senior business manager Karim Noblecilla...

"You can just press and do a sweep horizontal or vertical, and you will instantly get a full panorama shot."
And the camera does all the work putting it all together.
"Putting it all together. It will take several pictures at a rate of ten frames per second, and stitch them in camera."

Pricing will start at about 350 dollars. You can find us with archives, interviews...and this week a contest to win a Seagate FreeAgent Go hard drive at I'm Fred Fishkin.
