The system uses what is called the Zwave standard...and a hub that plugs into your broadband Internet connection. And about the mobile connection, Product manager Steve Samolinski says...

"It works with most Web enabled mobile phones. So if you've got Blackberries, iPhones. The new Palm operating system isn't supported yet. Android application isn't supported yet. But those are coming soon."
