Attack of the Androids. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Google's Android platform for smart mobile devices is picking up steam. Motorola is joining HTC and others in coming out with Android based phones. And Sprint has announced the Android based HTC Hero will go on sale beginning October 11th. National Marketing Director David Owens...

"It's got a five megapixel camera. It's a hundred percent touch screen device. It has WiFi, it's on our EVDO Rev. A network, it's got all of your Outlook integration, your Exchange ActiveSync, email, calendar, contacts. And then it's got this personal side to it. So you can set up your personal versus your business life."

The HTC Hero will sell for about 180 dollars with a contract and rebates. T-Mobile is selling its second generation Android phone the myTouch, from HTC, for about 200. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
